The City of Porto

The ROSEDA Conference is held in Porto. The city is characterized by a millennial history and a strong dynamism and personality. The great wealth of its artistic heritage, the Port Wine, the vast spaces dedicated to leisure and its cultural life, are just some of the many reasons you should visit the city. No wonder that in recent years it has been considered to be Europe’s best travel destination.

Along the river and the sea, the city unfolds in charming landscapes, inviting terraces and the pleasure of the outdoors. Keeping its character hospitable and conservative, the city is also contemporary and creative, and all of this testifies to the streets, architecture, museums, leisure spaces, esplanades and shopping areas, from traditional to spaces modern and exclusive.

The Historic Center of Porto has been a World Heritage Site since 1996, and its landscape and its winding streets give it a unique beauty. The city of Porto, proud of its history and its heritage, is the center of a very dynamic region in social, cultural and economic terms, that bets heavily in the future, with the promotion of higher education and science. Within a radius of 60 km are located numerous Polytechnic Institutes, Universities and Research Centers, with a total of more than 100 000 students and 6 000 professors and researchers.
